Many celebrate Diwali by lighting candles and diva lamps. Families come together to remember and reflect upon Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji (sixth Sikh Guru) who was imprisoned by the Mughal Empire. Whilst in prison, Guru Ji inspired and changed the lives of 52 kings who were wrongly imprisoned. Guru Ji saved the 52 kings by only agreeing to leave the prison if the 52 kings were also released. After this, the Guru was known as 'Bandi Chorr' - The Liberator.
